The Power announces its broadcast team for the 24-25 season in Matt Menzl and Dylan Ward.
Dylan Ward (23) has over four years of experience broadcasting for the USPHL, ACHA, and Illinois High School hockey filling the rules of play-by-play, color, and sideline reporter. Ward, a native of Glenview, IL brings in-depth analysis for avid hockey enthusiasts combined with accessible explanations and commentary for every fan.
Matt Menzl enters his first season as part of the West Bend Power broadcast team in 2024-25. Menzl has done extensive work in the broadcasting community, calling countless sporting events, ranging from the Lakeshore Chinooks, the Big East Digital Network, the Horizon League Network, ESPN+, Time Warner Cable/Spectrum SportsChannel and Bally Sports (previously Fox Sports) Wisconsin.
Menzl has been a regular in calling a variety of UW-Milwaukee sporting events dating back to 2007, including men’s and women’s soccer as well as volleyball. He has also been the women’s basketball broadcaster for the Panthers since the 2016-17 season, following seven years working with the UW-Green Bay men’s basketball program.
In 2022-23, Menzl added select Milwaukee Admirals AHL hockey games to his play-by-play resume. Some of his other hockey broadcast highlights include, calling the 2012 NCAA Women’s Hockey Frozen Four and handling the broadcasts of the 2019 NCAA D3 Men’s Hockey National Championship and the 2024 NCAA D3 Women’s Hockey National Championship for NCAA.com/Turner Sports.
A native of Cedarburg, Wis., Menzl got an early start in the profession by broadcasting games for Cedarburg High School during his days on campus. He earned his bachelor’s degree in communications at Concordia University in Mequon, where he has broadcast games since 2003, and previously served as an assistant in the sports information department.
