The Power took on the Wausau Cyclones at home on Friday and traveled to Rochester to face the Grizzlies on Saturday night, and came away with two more in the win column, improving to 32-2-1-1 with 64 points in first place in the Central Division.
Friday when the Cyclones traveled to Kettle Moraine Ice Center, the Power jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period with a goal from Armani Fisher (12) at 9:41 off assists from Evan Burchardt (16) and Otis Berge (3) and a goal from Brody Josselyn (13) at 8:29 off assists from Quinn O’Connor (20) and Eilas Holan (6). Wausau’s Maxim Salienko scored the only goal of the second period for a 2-1 game after two periods of play. There was no scoring in the third period until Danny Jurcich sealed the victory with an empty net goal with 9 seconds remaining for the 3-1 final. Jurcich was assisted by Mason Wanka (1) and Quinn O’Connor (21). Peter Burke earned the victory in the Power net, stopping 22/23 Cyclones shots on goal. The Power had 39 shots on goal in the victory.
The Palermo’s Screamin’ Sicilian three stars of the game were third star Peter Burke, second star Armani Fisher and first star Brody Josselyn. The Versi-foam Hard Hat Hardest Worker of the Game was Tristan Heraly.
Saturday the Power scored first at the Rochester Recreation Center when Mason Wanka scored his first goal as a Power at 8:28 off an assist from Aiden Callaghan. Rochester was able to answer with a goal from Baylor Stebbins at 2:49 for a 1-1 score after the first period of play. Shaun Paulson (8) scored at 6:47 of the second period off a Mason Wanka (2) assist for the Power’s second goal. Adam Sexton (10) scored off assists from Danny Jurcich (29) and Blake Kohnen (24) for the Power’s third goal at 5:27 and a 3-1 lead after two periods of play. The lone goal of the third period came on an empty net goal scored by Quinn O’Connor (13) with 54 seconds remaining in the game. He was assisted by Jace Fitzgerald (21). Sam Ahl earned the victory in the Power net, stopping 25/26 Grizzlies shots on goal. The Power had 26 shots on goal in the victory.
The Culligan Water of West Bend player of the weekend is Mason Wanka.

The Power will travel to Peoria to take on the Mustangs in a two-game series Friday and Saturday at the Owens Center. Friday’s game is at 7:00pm and Saturday’s game is at 6:00pm. The Power returns home Friday and Saturday, January 30-31 for HOCKEY FIGHTS CANCER weekend.
