The West Bend Power and Peoria Mustangs faced off for the third and fourth games in a row, with the home team coming away with 4 points in a sweep of the visiting Mustangs.
Friday the Power shut out the Mustangs 4-0, with Walker Berner earning the win and his first shutout as a Power netminder and the Power’s first of the season. Owen Drake got the party started with his 4th goal of the season at the 12:18 mark of the first period. Cole Fenske added the Power’s second goal of the night at 7:43 of the second period. He was assisted by Jace Fitzgerald giving the Power a 2-0 lead after 2 periods. The third period got off to some early fireworks, with two fights ensuing just 21 seconds in, resulting in ejections to Blake Mitchell, Sam Truxau, Tommy Kundinger and Liam Fraser. Andrew Butler quickly answered to the on-ice emotions, adding a goal and putting the Power up 3-0 at 18:02. He was assited by Monte Goold. Connor O’Neal scored once more with the Power’s 4th goal of the night at 18:51 off a Nate Cohen assist to seal the victory. Walker Berner saved 17/17 Mustang shots on goal. The Power had 35 shots on goal. Kason Yamada took the loss for the visiting Mustangs.
The Palermo’s Screaming Sicilian Three Stars of the Game were: third star Nate Cohen, second star Owen Drake and first star Walker Berner. The Versi-foam Hard Hat hardest worker of the game was awarded to Colin McMahon.
Saturday got off to a slower and much less animated start than expected, with no scoring in the first period. Bryce Garber got things going for the Power at 14:07 of the second period with his 7th goal of the season off assists from Max Mudge and Oliver Schroeder. The “Eagle River line” added the second goal with Jace Fitzgerald finding the back of the net off Cole Fenske and Teagan Scheurer assists. Cole Fenske then added a tally of his own with just 17.5 seconds remaining in the period to give the Power a 3-0 lead after two periods of play. Fenske was assisted by Teagan Scheurer and Max Mudge. It was Fenske again, scoring his 8th of the season and second of the night at 6:54 to give the Power a 4-0 lead. The Mustangs were able to score on a 5 on 3 power play at 8:22 of the third but couldn’t add more, for the final of 4-1. Brooks Barofsky stopped 27/28 Mustang shots on goal in the win. The Power had 48 shots on goal for the night.

The Kundinger Fluid Power Player of the Weekend goes to Cole Fenske for scoring three goals and tallying an assist.
The Power is back on the road this weekend when they travel to St. Louis to take on the Jr. Blues Saturday, December 2 at 3:30pm and Sunday, December 3 at 11:40am. Both games will be streamed on NAHLTV. The Power will return home Friday, December 8 to take on the Oregon Tradesmen for the Youth and Family Project Gingerbread House Night/TV sponsored by The Bend Theater. Fans will receive $5 admission with a donation to the Gingerbread House.
