The Power hosted the St. Louis Jr. Blues over the weekend in front of the home crowd at Kettle Moraine Ice Center and provided two overtime thrillers, with Jr. Blues taking Friday’s game 3-2 and the Power taking the shootout victory on Saturday, gaining 3 of 4 possible points on the weekend,

Friday the Power got on the board early, just two minutes into the game when Blake Mitchell scored his 7th goal of the season off assists from Brody Josselyn (7) and Lucca Weinkauf (12) for the only scoring of the period and a 1-0 lead after one.  The visitors scored twice in the second period to take the lead heading into the third.  Mike Sobaski was able to tie things up at 9:17 of the third with his 9th goal of the season.  Sobaski was assisted by Jackson Hoem and Tommy Kundinger (10) forcing overtime.  The Jr. Blues were able to find the back of the net at 3:13 for the victory and extra point on the night.  Adam Prokop suffered his first loss in the Power net, stopping 15/18 shots on goal. The Power had 35 shots on goal on the night.

Saturday couldn’t find a winner after four periods of play and the game was decided in a shootout.  The Jr Blues struck first with a goal with 1:55 remaining in the first period for the 1-0 lead after one period of play.  Jackson Hoem got the Power on the board at 9:16 of the second period, scoring from long range off assists from Drew Sparacino (7) and Jace Fitzgerald (15).  Danny Jurcich put the Power ahead just over two minutes later with his fourth goal of the season,  Jurcich was assisted by Evan Eisch (1) and Blake Mitchell (9).  St. Louis answered at 5:10 of the second to tie things up once again through two periods of play.  Jace Fitzgerald put the Power up 3-2 at 10:52 of the third period with his 8th goal of season off assists from Evan Eisch (2) and Tommy Kundinger (11).  But the visitors answered again to tie the game at 3 with 3:50 to go in the game, pushing the game to overtime for the second time in as many days.  Neither team was able to find the back of the next in the extra period, forcing the shootout.  St. Louis got the first attempt in the first round and was denied by Adam Prokop, then Teagan Scheuer was denied in the Power’s first attempt.  Mason Andrew was able to get one past Prokop in the second round, but Jackson Hoem answered to tie it 1-1 after two rounds.  Adam Prokop again denied the Jr. Blues in the first shot of round three, and then the hero of the night, Drew Garipay got the nod from head coach Jason Woods to shoot for the win.  Scoring his first goal of the season, Garipay fired blocker side past Jr. Blues goaltender Alexander Rivolta for the victory.  The Power had 56 shots on goal and St. Louis had 24 shots on goal. Adam Prokop earned the win in the Power net.

The Power moves to 21-7-2-0 and sits in first place in the Central Division with 30 games played and 44 points, 4 points in front of second place Wisconsin Woodsmen.
