The Power-Grizzlies Hockey Fights Cancer series had a playoff feel in this Central Division battle and proved to be an evenly matched showdown, with both teams coming away with a win and three points in the standings thanks to two overtime games. Friday, it was the visitors who prevailed, ending the Power’s 8-game winning streak with a 2-1 shootout win. Saturday the Power answered with an overtime winner, taking game two 3-2.
Friday, Evan Eisch got the Power on the board at 12:02 of the first period off assists Brayden Graning (16) and Quinn O’Connor (14). It was the only scoring of the period. The Grizzlies Brody Olson scored the only goal of the second period for a 1-1 tie after two periods. There was no scoring in the third period or in overtime, pushing the game to a shootout. Tyler Steuck was able to get one past Power goaltender Adam Prokop in the first round for the Grizzlies. Brody Josselyn was blanked in round one by Grizzlies goaltender Joey Bertram. Brody Olson scored for the Grizzlies in round two and Bertram stymied Jackson Hoem for the visitor victory. The Power had 40 shots on goal and Rochester had 38 shots on goal.
Saturday was another game forced to overtime, this time the Power coming away with the win in front of the home crowd at KMIC. Rochester struck first at 13:18 of the first period for a 1-0 lead after one period of play. Jackson Hoem scored his 25th goal of the season at 13:56 of the second period to tie the game 1-1. Hoem was assisted by Drew Sparacino (11) and Danny Jurcich (9). Rochester answered at 10:01 to take a 2-1 lead into the third period. Brody Josselyn scored his 6th goal of the season with 7 minutes remaining to tie the game and force it to overtime. Josselyn was assisted by Blake Mitchell (14) and Jackson Hoem (18). Tommy Kundinger proved to be the hero of the night with the game winning goal in overtime, his 9th of the season. Kundinger was assisted by Jace Fitzgerald (17) and Jackson Hoem (19). Adam Prokop earned the win in the power net, stopping 31/33 Rochester shots on goal. The Power had 27 shots on goal.

The Power has won 9 of their last 10 games and 14 of their last 16 games. The Power moves to 15-3-2-1 on home ice and sits in first place in the Central Division at 29-7-2-1 with 61 points in 39 games played.

The Power has an off-weekend February 7-9. They will travel to Wausau to take on the Cyclones on Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15 at Marathon Park. The Power will return home to Kettle Moraine Ice Center to take on the Wisconsin Woodsmen on February 21 for Billet Appreciation Night and February 22 for Fan Appreciation Night.
