Weekend Recap – Power drops one to Oregon

The Milwaukee Power and the Oregon Tradesmen met for the third time this season and the Power came up short again, suffering a 5-2 loss on home ice.

The Power got on the board first at the 7:38 mark when Patrick Toomey went forehand, backhand five hole for his 11th goal of the season off assists from Luke Nemeth and Odin Klebba.  Max Erstad extended the lead to 2-0 at the 15:23 mark scoring off assists from Max Mudge and Zach Wolverton.  The Tradesmen cut the lead to 1 at the 18:10 mark of the first.

The second period belonged to Oregon, scoring on three occasions to take a 4-2 lead into the third period.

After a physical and penalty ridden third period, the Tradesmen sealed the victory with a goal at the 17:23 mark.

Brett Holmer stopped 21 of 26 Oregon shots.  The Power had 28 shots on goal.

The Power stands in 4th place with a 7-8-1-1 record and the Tradesmen hold on to second place in the Central Division.

The Power is on the road to St. Louis this weekend for a Saturday-Sunday tilt against the Jr. Blues.  Saturday’s game is at 3:30 and Sunday the puck drops at 11:00 am.  Both games will be broadcast on Hockey TV.

The Power’s next home series is November 25-26 against Peoria.  Both games are at 7:30. Saturday is Skate with the Power night.
