The Milwaukee Power hits the road to Wausau for a two-game series with the Cyclones Friday and Saturday at Marathon Park.
The teams met earlier this season at Kettle Moraine Ice Center with the Power coming away with the weekend sweep, while Wausau picked up a point on an overtime loss.
The Power (5-5-1-1) is currently tied for second with Oregon while the Cyclones sit in 5th place with a 4-3-1 record.
The Power is led in scoring by Patrick Toomey with 11 points followed by Connor O’Neal (IR) with 10 and Max Erstad with 8 points. Owen Drake (6 points) and Justin LaGrow (5 points) have stepped up offensively in recent weeks and the Power will look for them to continue those efforts. The Power will start Wausau native Adam Prokop in the Power net.
The Cyclones bring a heavy game with experienced returners and are led offensively by Gage Vierzba and Hayden Shoemake. The Power needs to bring a stronger effort on Friday night and continue to focus on playing disciplined hockey. “The Power needs to start finding themselves in Friday night contests and have a complete weekend. Discipline and a full 200-foot game will provide success for the Power this weekend,” said Power VP Hockey Operations, General Manager Kevin Marion.
Both games are at 7:10 and will be broadcast on Hockey TV.
