The Power travels to Peoria to take on the Mustangs in the final regular season meeting between the two teams. Friday’s game is at 7:00pm and Saturday’s game is at 6:00pm at the Owens Center. The Power has secured the regular season Central Division championship and home ice advantage in the playoffs, entering the weekend at 36-3-1-1 and 78 points. The Mustangs are 7-34-2-0 with 16 points in sixth place in the Central Division.
The Power has won all six prior meetings this season with the Mustangs. On the season, the Power has scored 231 goals to the Mustangs 126. The Power special teams are at 27.3% on the power play and 85.3% on the penalty kill. The Mustangs special teams are 15% on the power play and 68.3% on the penalty kill.
The Power is led in scoring by Danny Jurcich with 59 points and Jace Fitzgerald with 56 points. The Mustangs are led in scoring by Brendon Miller with 48 points and Owen Gruden with 43 points. Power goaltender Sam Ahl was awarded the Central Division First Star of the Week honors for his performance against the Wausau Cyclones, with 2 wins, one shutout and .948 save percentage. Danny Jurcich was awarded Central Division Third Star of the Week honors for scoring 5 goals and tallying 3 assists last weekend.
“We’re looking to keep two feet on the tracks this weekend, we have to have a playoff mindset with no time to let down. Every game from here on out is playoff mentality,” said Power Associate Head Coach/General Manager Jeremy Ebert.
Both weekend games will be broadcast on NA TV.
