The Milwaukee Power hits the road this weekend to travel to Peoria to face the Mustangs in a 2-game series, Friday and Saturday at Owens Ice Center.
The Power is coming off a sweep of the St. Louis Jr. Blues, and the Mustangs are coming off a sweep of the Wausau Cyclones, with both teams punching their ticket to the post season. The Power is currently in third place with 49 points and the Mustangs are in fourth place with 46 points. The playoff picture is still very much up in the air, as Rochester is in first place with 60 points and the Oregon Tradesmen are sitting in second with 55 points.
The Power is led in scoring by Patrick Toomey with 58 points (29 goals, 29 assists), Blake Keller (42 total points), Mike Dalaly with 33 points and Max Erstad with 30 points. Peoria is led in scoring by Ethan Chesney (56 points), Jaycob Bland (37 points) and Massimo Polistina (36 points). The Power has relied on strong goaltending from tandem Adam Prokop, Brett Holmer and Gavin Wohlmacher and will look for the netminders to play a big role again this weekend.
“We had a strong week of practice and are treating every game as a playoff game from here on out. Clinching a playoff spot doesn’t mean we are letting off the gas pedal,” said Power Assistant Coach Jeremy Ebert.
Friday night is a 7:00 puck drop, and Saturday’s game starts at 6:00. Both games will be broadcast on Hockey TV. You can stay up to date on both games via the Power social media outlets: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
