The Power is on the road to Rochester, MN to take on the Rochester Grizzlies for the first time this season in a Friday-Saturday match up. Both games are at the Rochester Recreation Center at 7:00pm.
The Power is coming off a split with the West Division Mason City Toros in Mason City, IA last weekend. Their loss was in an overtime shootout, allowing them to pick up a point for 3 of 4 on the weekend. The Grizzlies are coming off a weekend sweep of the Peoria Mustangs in Peoria. The Power have played 10 games and are now 7-2-0-1, The Grizzlies have played 7 games with a 5-2 record.
The Power is led in scoring by Jace Fitzgerald with 18 points and Drew Sparacino with 15 points. The Grizzlies are led in scoring by Mason Decker with 13 points and Andrew Bastain and Ole Fevold with 11 points each. On special teams, the Grizzlies are 29.63% on the power play to the Power’s 23.91%. The Grizzlies are 86.21% and Power is 85.45% on the penalty kill. Ben Knutson picked up his first win in the Power net last weekend in Mason City. He has a save percentage of 0,899 with a 3.750 GAA. Power goaltender Ben Glaeseman is 5-0-1 with a 0.903 SV% and 2.36 GAA and Peter Burke is 1-1 with a 0.843 SV% and 4.068 GAA. The Grizzlies have split the net with Kyle Lappi, 4-1, 2.207 GAA and 0.889 SV%, Tate Metcalf and Cameron Patrick.
The Power and Grizzlies last faced off in the 24-25 playoffs for the Central Divisoin title. The Power took 2 of 3 games in the series from the Grizzlies, punching their ticket to the Fraser Cup in St. Louis. “We know we have a tough series ahead against a strong Rochester team. They’re skilled, well-coached, and playing on home ice, so we need to be ready to play smart, disciplined hockey,” said Power Head Coach Jason Woods.
