Weekend Preview – Power on the road to Oregon for two games

Dec 28, 2023

The West Bend Power returned from a post-showcase holiday break this week to prepare for a two-game series with the Tradesmen in Oregon Friday and Saturday. Both games are at 7:30pm at the Oregon Ice Arena.

The Power is coming off a strong showing at the NA3HL showcase, going 1-1-1 and picking up three points.  The Power faced the New Mexico Ice Wolves, Helena Bighorns and the Rochester Grizzles.  The Tradesmen are coming off their 7 games in 9 days streak with two losses to the Wisconsin Woodsmen.  The Tradesmen went 1-2 in the NA3HL showcase.

The Power is led in scoring by Teagan Scheurer with 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) and Bryce Garber with 26 points (11 goals, 15 assists).  Max Mudge and Jace Fitzgerald have each tallied 24 points to date, followed by Andrew Butler (23) and Cole Fenske (22).  Brooks Barofsky is on a hot streak in the Power net with a 7 game winning streak.

The Power will look to continue a complete team effort with a balanced scoring attack and strong goaltending to pick up points in the standings.  The Power is currently tied for the top spot in the Central Division with the Wausau Cyclones with 45 points.

“We need to just keep doing what we’ve been doing and take it one game at a time,” said Power Assistant Coach, General Manager Jeremy Ebert.  “We can’t look too far ahead or get caught up in the standings, we know we have to keep focused on winning one game at a time.”
