Weekend Preview – Power hosts St. Louis in battle for first place in the Central

The Power will host the St. Louis Jr. Blues Friday and Saturday at Kettle Moraine Ice Center for Deer Hunter’s Widows’/Ladies Weekend sponsored by Eileen Voigt, Thrivent Financial.  There will be pre-game meals from the Great Outdoors Supper Club both nights. Friday is Greek Salad Night with your choice of beef or chicken gyros in a salad or a pita for $10 and includes chips. Saturday is “Brinner Night” – breakfast for dinner.  Breakfast skillet for $10, biscuits & gravy for $8 and pancakes with blueberries for $8.  All ladies will receive “Buy one, get one free” admission and beverages all weeked.

The Power and Jr. Blues hold the top two spots in the Central Division with 6 points separating the two teams. The Power is 16-2-0-1 with 33 points and the Jr. Blues are 13-4-1-0 with 27 points.  The two teams split their first meeting of the season in St. Louis with the Jr. Blues taking game one 6-1 and the Power responding in game two with a 6-3 victory.  The Power is currently on a 10-game winning streak, coming off a sweep of the Peoria Mustangs. The Jr. Blues were swept last weekend by the Rochester Grizzlies at Affton Ice Rink in St. Louis.

The Power is led in scoring by Jace Fitzgerald with 30 points, Danny Jurcich with 23 points and Drew Sparacino with 20 points. The Jr. Blues are led in scoring by Jace Jordan with 25 points and Joseph LoPiccolo with 22 points.  The Power saw a strong, balanced scoring effort last weekend against Peoria, with 13 different Power players finding the back of the net on the weekend. Quinn O’Connor was named the Central Divison Star of the Week for his performace against the Mustangs, tallying 3 goals and 3 assists.  Jackson Hoem earned Central Division Second Star of the Week for his performance against Peoria, scoing one goal and collecting 6 assists. The Power goalies Ben Glaesman, Ben Knutson and Peter Burke have a combined 2.21 GAA and 0.941 SV% on the season thus far.  The Jr. Blues Travis Visvadra has played in 13 games for the Jr. Blues with a 2.622 GAA and 0.909SV%.  The Jr. Blues are 28.13% on the power play to the Power’s 17.49%.  The Power is slightly higher on the penalty kill at 80.4% to St. Louis’ 79.49%.

We are looking to continue generating offense while staying focused on fundamentals and maintaining discipline. It’s sure to be an exciting series,” said Power Associate Head Coach/General Manager Jeremy Ebert.

Both games are at 7:30pm and will be broadcast on NA TV.
