Weekend Preview – Power hosts Grizzlies in key division matchup

The Power’s home stand continues this weekend Friday and Saturday when the Rochester Grizzlies come to town for a two-game series.  Friday is Stop Hunger Night sponsored by Westbury Bank.  Fans receive $5 admission with donation of 3 or more non-perishable food items benefitting the West Bend Full Shelf Food Pantry.  Saturday is Youth Hockey Night//SKATE WITH THE POWER sponsored by Culligan Water of West Bend.  All youth hockey players wearing a jersey get in free.  Skate with the Power players after the game.  Bring your skates or rent them for free at the rink.  Great Outdoors Supper Club pre-game meal Friday is Mexican Night – 3 tacos or nachos with Spanish rice for $10.  Saturday is Mac-and-cheese Night. Mac-and-cheese with pork, brisket or chicken for $15. Food and beverage service begin at 5:00.

The Power is on a 12-game winning streak entering the weekend and remain undefeated at home.  The Power is coming off a sweep of the St. Louis Jr. Blues.  The Grizzlies are coming off a weekday win over the Alexandria Blizzard after a split with the Wisconsin Woodsmen where both games ended in overtime.  The Power is 18-2-0-1 in 21 games with 37 points in first place in the Central Division.  The Grizzlies are 11-7-1-0 in 19 games with 21 points and are in third place in the Central Division. The two teams have met three times this season to date, with the Power winning the three match ups.

The Power is led in scoring by Jace Fitzgerald with 30 points, Danny Jurcich with 25 points and Blake Kohnen with 22 points. The Grizzlies are led in scoring by Mason Decker with 26 points and Ole Fevlod and Brett Ludvigsen with 22 points each. The Power will need to play disciplined hockey and avoid costly penalties, as Rochester is 30% on the power play.  The Power is 18.40% on the Power play to 80% on the penalty kill.  The Grizzlies are 81.97% on the penalty kill.

“We’re excited to keep our momentum rolling into the weekend. If we sharpen a few details in our D-zone, we can really cut down on the quality chances we’re giving up. It’s a long season, and every game is a fresh chance for us to get better and keep pushing forward,” said Power Associate Head Coach/General Manager Jeremy Ebert.

Both games are at 7:30pm and will be broadcast on NATV.
