The Milwaukee Power will look to get back in win column this weekend as they head to St. Louis for a two-game match up with the Jr. Blues. The games are Saturday at 3:30 and Sunday at 11:00am at Affton Ice Arena.
The Power (7-8-1-1, 4th place in the Central Division) and the Jr. Blues (2-12, sixth place in the Central Division) split in their first meeting early in the season.
The Power needs to come into this series prepared to face a young but strong and energetic St. Louis team. The Power has struggled on taking advantage of key scoring opportunities and need to step up offensively this weekend.
The Power is led in scoring by Patrick Toomey with 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists) and Max Erstad with 11 points.
“Consistent goal scoring is needed for us to be successful, and we haven’t seen that in our last three games,” said Power VP Hockey Operations, General Manager Kevin Marion. “We will look for more of an offensive attack with an all hands-on-deck approach.”
The Power is expected to start Adam Prokop on Saturday in the Power net. Prokop has a 3.10 GAA and .916 save percentage.
St. Louis is led in scoring by Gus Immken with 12 points and Carson Pishkur with 9 points
Both games will be broadcast on Hockey TV. Saturday is Veterans Night at Affton. The St. Louis Jr. Blues will pay tribute to those who served, and admission is free for Veterans and active-duty military. Puck drop is at 3:30; fans should plan on arriving 20 minutes early for pre-game ceremonies to honor Veterans.
