Weekend Preview – Power faces off with Woodsmen in Tomah

The Power will travel to Tomah to take on the Wisconsin Woodsmen in a one-game match up Saturday, November 1 at 7:15 at the Tomah Ice Center.

The Power, coming off a victory over the Wausau Cyclones, stands at 11-2-0-1 with 23 points and is currently in first place in the Central Division.  The Woodsmen, coming off a loss to the Rochester Grizzlies are 2-11-1-0 with 5 points in fifth place in the Central Division. The Power is 1-1 against the Woodsmen this season to date. The teams split the home and away series earlier in October, with each team picking up the win on home ice.  The Power lost 6-4 in Tomah and rebounded to win 8-3 the following night in West Bend.  Since that loss, the Power is 5-1, with their only loss coming in an overtime shootout to the Mason City Toros.  

The Power is led in scoring by Jace Fitzgerald with 23 points, Drew Sparacino with 17 points and Danny Jurcich with 16. The Woodsmen are led in scoring by Maxim Lazo with 19 points and Ty Paulios with 12 points.

Power netminder Peter Burke is 4-1 on the season with his only loss coming against the Woodsmen.  His GAA is 2.013 and SV% 0.937.  Burke and Ben Knutson have stepped up to combine for 5 consecutive victories since the injury to Ben Glaesman in the Mason City shootout loss game.  Lleyton Jaschke has played 11 games in the Woodsmen net with a4.495 GAA and SV% 0.887.  

“We’re looking forward to a one-game weekend with the Woodsmen. It’ll be our last bus trip for a while and a great opportunity to get one more game in before a nice, long homestand. We’ll be missing a couple of key guys, so I’m excited to see others step up,” said Power Head Coach Jason Woods.

Saturday’s puck drop is 7:15pm and will be broadcast on NA TV.
