The West Bend Power and the Wausau Cyclones are set to meet for the final time in the regular season in a home-and-home weekend series. Friday’s game is at Marathon Park in Wausau before the Power returns home to Kettle Moraine Ice Center for a Saturday night match up. Saturday is SKATE WITH THE POWER Night sponsored by Lynch Buick GMC of West Bend. Fans can bring their skates or rent them for free at the rink and skate with the Power players after the game. Saturday is also Luau Night with the Great Outdoors Supper Club. The first 300 fans will get a Hawaiian lei and a can koozie and can enjoy a full luau meal. Luau party menu includes jerk pulled pork, Hawaiian BBQ ribs, teriyaki chicken, coleslaw and rolls for $15/plate. Food and beverage service begin at 5:00pm
The Power enters the weekend at 36-3-1-1 with 74 points in first place in the Central Division and the Cyclones entered at 24-16-1-0 with 41 points, battling with the Grizzlies for second place and home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Power is looking to get back in the win column after suffering their first loss on home ice this season last Saturday against the Grizzlies. The Power split the weekend series with Rochester. Wausau is coming off a split of the St. Louis Jr. Blues last weekend. The Power has won all six meetings between the two teams so far this season, outscoring the Cyclones 30-11.
The Power is led in scoring by Jace Fitzgerald with 54 points and Danny Jurcich with 53 points. The Cylones are led in scoring by Jackson Schroeder with 58 points and Eli Hoffmann with 46 points. The Cyclones are 4th in the league on the penalty kill at 86.49% while the Power is 8th in the league at 84.78% The Power is 7th in the leage on power play at 26.6% to Wausau’s 22.13%.
“We are looking for a bounce back weekend,” said Power Associate Head Coach/General Manager Jeremy Ebert. “We need to get back to the basics of the game and stay disciplined. The last six games of the regular season need to be treated like playoff hockey.”
Friday’s game is at 7:10 and Saturday’s puck drop is 7:30pm. Both games will be broadcast on NA TV.
