The NA3HL playoffs kick off this weekend as the #1 Central Division seed Power takes on the #4 Central Division seed St. Louis Jr. Blues in a best of three series. Game one will be Friday, March 13 at Kettle Moraine Ice Center at 7:30pm sponsored by SKB Landscaping and Design 2 Construct. The Great Outdoors Supper Club will be serving Friday Fish Tacos and Clam Chowder Soup before the game. Food and beverage service begin at 5:00pm. Game two of the series will be in St. Louis on Saturday, March 14 at 7:45 pm at Affton Ice Rink. Game three, if necessary, will be back in West Bend at Kettle Moraine Ice Center on Sunday, March 15 at 7:30pm. The winner of this semi-final series will meet next weekend in the Central Division finals against the winner of the Rochester Grizzlies and Wausau Cyclones series for the right to go the Fraser Cup in St. Louis March 25-29.
Notes for playoffs: Ticket vouchers and season tickets are not accepted for playoffs. Bolt Club tickets and WCYHA skater passes will be accepted. Ticket prices are: General Admission Adult $15, General Admission Senior/student/military $7, All-inclusive beverage $25.
The Power has won seven of the eight games played this season between the two teams, outscoring the Jr. Blues 43-25. The Power finished the regular season at a stellar 41-3-2-1 with 85 points and the Jr. Blues finished the regular season at 23-21-2-1 with 49 points. The Power is led in (regular season) scoring by Jace Fitzgerald with 61 points, Danny Jurcich with 59 points, Aidan Callaghan with 53 (total) points and Quinn O’Connor, Drew Sparacino and Nolan Mix with 49 points each. The Jr. Blues leading scorers are Joseph Lopiccolo with 46 points and Lonnie Land with 41 points.
On special teams, the Power finished the regular season at 26.88%, 9th in the league on the power play and 86.34%, 4th in the league on the penalty kill. The Jr. Blues finished the regular season at 22.48% on the power play and 77.88% on the pentaly kill. Power goaltenders Sam Ahl and Ben Glaesman have a combined 2.19 GAA and 0.9131 SV%. St. Louis goaltenders Aaron Sibert and Travis Visvadra have a combined 3.30 GAA and 0.8975 SV%.
“We’re looking forward to kicking off the Fraser Cup playoffs. It’s a moment we’ve been preparing for since last season,” said Power Head Coach Jason Woods. “We’re playing a high-quality and very gritty St. Louis team which will certainly present some difficulties. I think our guys will be motivated and excited for the challenge ahead.”
