The Milwaukee Power started their first training camp just 6 days ago with 12 players that took it upon themselves to trust in the front office's process of finding the right players to bring in. Throughout camp the Power's front office brought in 4 more excellent players with 3 of them coming in trades. On Sunday the Power played Concordia's ACHA Division II team in a scrimmage where the Power won with a final score of 4-1. The first goal in the organizations history was scored by Ivan Bilyy, the first assist was by Nick Roberts, the first goalie to win a game was Aaron Dickstein, and Fred Berry won his first of many games as Head Coach. Last night the Power closed training camp with a team dinner and a very important announcement. The Vice President of Hockey Operations, Chase Ernst, officially announced to the team that Jake Berry would be the teams first ever captain. Jake is a veteran of the NA3HL and had a very successful rookie campaign with the Texas Brahmas that point him in the leagues top 10 in scoring for defensemen. "Jake is going to be a big part of ushering in Junior hockey in Milwaukee. He will keep the rest of the guys in the locker room on task and get this team going in the right direction as we play 7 games at home in September," said Chase Ernst. There is still a lot of work that has to be done before the Power open the season against Peoria on Friday but the Power our heading in the right direction with players and a staff that believe in the organization.
