It was Admirals Weekend at the Ozaukee Ice Center as the Power hosted the division rival St. Louis Jr. Blues for a two game series. St. Louis came into the weekend with a five game winning streak. Meanwhile, Milwaukee was 2-2 in their last four games and needing to make up some ground on St. Louis and Oregon in the Central Division standings. Ewan McDevitt would get the start in net on Friday after coming off his first win the previous Saturday against Oregon. He would stop 28 of the 31 shots he faced in front of a max capacity crowd. Milwaukee would open the scoring in the first with Mason Ausmus going coast to coast beating Owen Carlson glove-side, Tyler Nelson would get an assist. St. Louis would tie the game with a power-play goal with less then three minutes remaining in the frame. The Power would take the lead again in the second after a St. Louis defenseman mishandled the puck off the draw allowing Dominic Martinetti to get a two on one rush with Nico Piehl coming down the middle of the ice. Martinetti would shoot around the lone defenseman, off of Carlson's pad with the rebound bouncing right to Piehl as he buried it with authority. In the third period Milwaukee would make it a two goal lead as Michael Dalaly scored early with a power-play goal with assists from Devin Huie and Tyler Nelson. Penalty trouble would plague Milwaukee for the rest of the period and give St. Louis two power-play goals to tie the game with two minutes remaining. The game would go to overtime, guaranteeing both teams at least one point from the contest. In the three on three format Teddy Marion would take the puck off a tip from Caleb Dusseau and race up the right wing on a two on one with his wrist shot knuckling past Carlson for the game winning goal to give the Power two points on the night and McDevitt his second win in his third start. Cole Shane would get the start in net for Milwaukee and St. Louis would start Carlson again. Shane would stop 24 of the 27 shots he faced. The Blues would take the lead midway through the first with a power-play goal. The Power would answer back in the second period with Nico Piehl scoring in back to back games off of a rebound from a backhanded shot by Jackson Terpstra, Donovan Balisteri would get the secondary assist. Milwaukee would take the lead on a corner snipe from Garrett Alton after getting the puck in the slot, Ben Cremers and Max Erstad would get the assists. With under five minutes to go St. Louis would tie the game four on four after a penalty negated a Milwaukee power-play chance. The Power would regain the lead with just over a minute remaining after Teddy Marion stuffed home a loose puck in the crease, Devin Huie and Logan Hartje would get the assists. The Power would add to their lead early in the third as Tyler Nelson would get sprung on a breakaway behind the Blues defensemen with enough time to fake out Carlson, Jackson Terpstra and David Nappier would be credited with assists. St. Louis would score late in the period with the extra skater on the ice to get within one but Milwaukee would hold them off in the final minute to complete their first ever sweep of the Blues. Next weekend the Power host the Oregon Tradesmen for two games. The Power trail the Tradesmen by six points with only 14 games remaining. The Power will need to keep their penalties to a minimum and capitalize on their chances and solid goaltending to get maximum points this weekend.
