The Milwaukee Power took a short trip out to Oregon last Saturday night for their first meeting with the Tradesmen this season. The Power were coming off of two close loses at home against Rochester. The Tradesmen had come off a split series with St. Louis with a bounce back win after being shut out in the first game.
The Power would start Austin Bartell in net and the Tradesmen would start Ian Hedican. Milwaukee’s offense would get on the board first four minutes into the period as Ben Cremers scored off a cross crease feed from Michael Dalaly. The Tradesmen were held at bay until seven minutes to go as they tied the score on the power play. Oregon would score two more times to take a two goal lead at the end of the first.
Milwaukee would switch goalies as they put Spencer Northway in net to start the second. The Tradesmen would add to their lead less than a minute into the period. Oregon would add two more tallies to lead 6-1 after the second. The third period would see the Tradesmen add three more goals before the final buzzer to make the final 9-1.
The Power offense was not able to capitalize on their early spark and struggled to stay out of the penalty box as the Tradesmen netted three power play goals. Milwaukee has lost their last five games and have been out shot in all five. They look to turn things around as the Peoria Mustangs come to town this weekend for two games as they come off being swept in Rochester. The puck drops at 7:00pm on Friday and 4:30pm on Saturday.
