The Power are back home this week after playing their last six games on the road. On Wednesday, the Rochester Grizzlies are in town for a single game against Milwaukee at Kettle Moraine Ice Center. The two teams played each other just last weekend, with the Grizzlies sweeping the two-game series. Rochester had been on a five-game winning streak until last weekend, when the Wausau Cyclones pulled out a 3-2 overtime win on Sunday. The Grizzlies also had an eight-game home stand before playing on Wausau’s home ice. Rochester won seven out of eight of these games but are one for two on the road since then. With the Power riding their high from Saturday’s win, Wednesday’s game will be an exciting matchup.
Looking ahead, the Peoria Mustangs will be playing Milwaukee again this Saturday, Nov. 4th and Sunday, Nov. 5th at Ozaukee Ice Center. The Mustangs and the Power have played two two-game series this season so far, one of them being this past weekend. Both series were split, meaning that they’ve won two games and lost two games against each other. Friday’s game was a rough loss for the Power; with nearly 20 penalties by the end of the game, the Mustangs took an 11-3 win. Milwaukee bounced back on Saturday, limiting their penalties and taking a 6-4 victory.
Both games against the Mustangs will be held in the afternoon; Saturday’s game is at 12:30pm and Sunday’s is at 2:30pm. The Power are proud to have Cedars III Bowling as our sponsor for Saturday, and Quick Care Auto and Itty Bitty Piggies as Sunday’s sponsors. Saturday and Sunday are the Power’s Kids2Kids toy drive where you’ll be able to purchase items from Itty Bitty Piggies for the donation! We encourage you to buy or bring in any items for the toy drive. Aside from this event, there’s bound to be a lot of tension in the air resulting from this weekend in Peoria, so make sure to catch the games this weekend to see it all play out!
