The Power will close out the 2021-2022 season this weekend with two home games against the Jr. Blues. Milwaukee has a 5-1 record against St. Louis this season after the Power swept them this past weekend. They had a strong start on Saturday, scoring two goals just over two minutes into the game. The Power put two more goals on the board by the end of the first, ensuring themselves a 4-0 lead. While the Jr. Blues managed to pick up three goals later in the game, they couldn’t score a fourth and gave the Power a 4-3 win. On Sunday, St. Louis took an early 1-0 lead in the first, but Milwaukee capitalized on two penalties in the second and picked up two power play goals. After a scoreless third, the Power won 2-1 and swept the weekend.
Despite sitting next to each other in the Central Division standings, Milwaukee is 20 points ahead of St. Louis. Additionally, the Power is only five points behind the Wausau Cyclones, who recently took the last playoff spot in our standings. Although neither Milwaukee or St. Louis could make it to the postseason, the Power fought hard and slowly climbed up the Central Division standings; unfortunately, they were just short of surpassing the Cyclones.
With the final series this weekend, the Power is looking for one final sweep against the Jr. Blues. The first game begins on Friday, March 4 at 7 p.m. which is Billet Night at Ozaukee Ice Center. Join us to celebrate the Power’s billet families who make this team possible! The final game of the season begins on Saturday, March 5 at 7 p.m. which is Fan Appreciation Night. The Power will be recognizing our age outs who will be playing their last game with us. Additionally, prizes will be raffled off throughout the night and the players will be available for post-game autographs! This is your last chance to catch a game this season, so come on out to cheer on your Milwaukee Power one last time!
