Feb 15, 2024

West Bend, WI – The Power will travel to Wausau to take on the Cyclones in critical two-game match up in the battle for first place in the Central Division. Games are on Friday, Feb. 16 and Saturday, Feb. 17 with puck drop both nights at 7:10pm CST at Marathon Park Ice Arena.

Cutting Down the Opposition

The Power swept the Wisconsin Woodsmen this past weekend by a combined score of 13-5. Many players hit season milestones they hope to build upon, including Bryce Garber who reached 40 points after his first of three goals on Feb. 10.

Head Coach Jason Woods preached positivity going into the upcoming series. “Big games are ahead,” Woods said. These are big opportunities to keep the positive momentum going as we head into the playoffs.”

Across the Aisle

Just a half game in front of the Power, the first place Wausau Cyclones control their own destiny. The currently hold a 31-9-0-1 record and 63 points.

With phenom defenseman Isaac Baker out of the lineup for the foreseeable future, Connor Dvorak and Matthew Mahoney look to continue their production. A rookie from Saginaw, MI, Dvorak has been lighting up the scoresheet on a near nightly basis. His 61 points (22 goals, 39 assists) is third in the entire league. Currently fifth in NA3HL assists, Dvorak’s speed allows him to get behind defensemen and dish out passes. Matthew Mahoney has adjusted well to Wausau after being acquired from the St. Louis Jr. Blues. Mahoney has averaged an assist in all six games he has dressed for as a member of the Cyclones.

After taking two games off, Collin Lemanski will start both games, per the team’s recent press release. Lemanski has had a superb season, earning an 18-6-0-1 record and 2.29 goals allowed average. His 0.937 save percentage is best in the Central Division and sixth leaguewide.
