Power Struggle Against Grizzlies

The Power continued their long home stand this past weekend with a two game series against the Rochester Grizzlies. The Grizzlies stand alone atop the Central division while the Power sit in 5th.

Cole Shane would get the start in net for Milwaukee on Friday night but after giving up four goals on 13 shots in the 1st. He was relieved by Jackson Broussard to start the 2nd period and he allowed three goals on 10 shots. The Grizzlies were held scoreless in the 3rd frame to win 7 – 0. The Power took six penalties on the night and gave up two power play goals, the Grizzlies took four penalties.

Shane would start again on Saturday and stopped 16 of 17 shots by Rochester in the 1st with the lone goal coming on a power play. The Grizzlies would score three times in the 2nd, two of which were on the power play. Milwaukee struggled to stay out of the box as they took two 5-minute majors in the 2nd frame. Rochester would score one more in the 3rd to put the final score to 5 – 0.

The Power got off to a better start in the 2nd game of the weekend but were unable to get the offense going again as they were shut out for the 3rd time in the last four games. Milwaukee has a short turnaround this week as they are at home against the Oregon Tradesmen on Thursday as they look to stop their six game slide.
