Power Sign Veteran D-Man

Aug 6, 2018

The Power concluded their Main Try-Out Camp yesterday afternoon and added a major part on the defensive side from Milwaukee. The veteran NA3HL defenseman and Power tender, Jake Berry, officially signed with the Power at the conclusion of the four day camp.

"Jake Berry could possibly be one of the most elite defensemen inside the entire league. Two seasons ago he was an above a point per game player, he decided and chose to comeback to his hometown of Milwaukee to usher in the Junior Hockey Era and as proud and happy as this city is of what his father has been able to accomplish inside the professional ranks, we are 100% sure that Jake Berry will be the Berry who ushers in Junior Hockey Era and makes this city proud to have the next generation of Berry to cheer for and to help bring the inaugural season of the Power to them,"said Chase Ernst, Vice President of Hockey Operations.

Berry played his rookie year for the Texas Jr. Brahmas in the 2016-17 season. He recorded 3 goals and 43 assists for a total of 46 points putting him at seventh in the league in points for all defensemen.

Berry gives the Power a veteran presence on and off the ice that brings a value that is immeasurable. Having someone like him in the locker room that knows what it takes to be successful in the NA3HL will set the example for the rookies coming in this season. The Power are extremely happy to have him on board as they continue to build out the roster.

More signings to come as the Power gear up for the season opener vs the Peoria Mustangs on September 7th.
