It was a hard fought weekend in Milwaukee as the Power and Mustangs faced off in a two game series that featured some great goaltending.
Cole Shane and Cole Walter had a goalie showdown on Friday night with over 100 shots faced combined. Both sides were kept off the scoreboard in the 1st. Early in the 2nd Peoria would score a shorthanded goal on a breakaway to grab the lead. The goal lights would remain unlit the remainder of the night with multiple highlight reel worthy saves made by Shane.
Shane would get the start in net again on Saturday. The Mustangs would score twice in the 1st. In the 2nd the Power would get one back with Jackson Terpstra scoring his first NA3HL goal off of a great cross crease pass from Riley Cassada, the secondary assist came from Zach Wilson. Peoria would score again in the 3rd and hold on to the two goal lead. Shane stopped 41 or 44 shots to keep the Power close.
Milwaukee will look to rebound next weekend when the Rochester Grizzlies come to town for two games. The Power will need to get more out of the offense to capitalize on their great goaltending against the Central division leader.
