The West Bend Power traveled to Peoria in the frigid cold, but heated things up on the ice, sweeping the Mustangs and earning their second consecutive regular season Central Division Championship. The Power improved to 33-2-1-1 with 68 points in first place in the Central Division. The Power outscored the Mustangs 15-0 on the weekend.
Friday
Danny Jurcich started the scoring for the Power at 14:29 of the first period with his 14th goal of the season off an assist from Aidan Callaghan (28). Elias Holan added the second goal at 3:33 off an assist from Nathan Antti (7) for a 2-0 lead after the first period. Quinn O’Connor (14) scored the only goal of the second period off assists from Drew Sparacino (26) and Jace Fitzgerald (22). The Power lit the lamp four times in the third period. Amani Fisher (13) scored a power play goal at 12:59 off assists from Antti (8) and Callaghan (29). Callaghan (11) scored his first goal as a Power at 7:55 off an O’Connor (22) assist. Drew Sparacino added two power play goals. His first at 5:51 was assisted by Fitzgerald (23) and his second with 47 seconds remaining in the game was assised by Blake Kohnen (23) and Quinn O’Connor (23). Sam Ahl earned the victory in the Power net with the shutout, stopping att 14 Mustangs shots on goal. The Power had 38 shots on goal
Saturday
Evan Burchardt (4) started the scoring on Saturday at 12:08 of the first period. He was assisted by Drew Sparacino (27) and Mason Wanka (17). Jace Fitzgerald scored an unassisted short handed goal at 5:29. Drew Sparacino (10) scored a power play at 4:00 off a Quinn O’Connor (24) assist for a 3-0 lead after the first period of play. Three goals were scored by the Power in the second period. Jace Fitzgerald (22) scored a power play at 5:19 off assists from Sparacino (28) and Blake Kohnen (24). Danny Jurcich (15) scored another power play goal at 12:47 off assists from Fitzgerald (24) and Sparacino (29). Mason Wanka (13) added an even strength goal at 9:35 off assists from Ftizgerald (25) and Otis Berge (4) The third period saw two more Power goals, the first from Mason Wanka (14) at 16:12 off another Fizgerald (26) and Quinn O’Connor (25) assist, and Fitzgerald completed the hat trick with his 23rd goal of the season at 12:11 off assists from Wanka (18) and Kohnen (25). Ben Glaseman earned the victory in the Power net with a shutout, stopping all 15 of the Mustangs shots on goal. The Power had 56 shots on goal.

The Power will host the St. Louis Jr. Blues Friday and Saturday at Kettle Moraine Ice Center for HOCKEY FIGHTS CANCER weekend sponsored by The Bend and Murphy and Prachthauser. The players will be wearing custom cancer jerseys that will be auctioned off with proceeds benefitting Relay for Life Washington County. The jersey auction begins Thursday, January 29 at 10am and will end Sunday, February 1 at 10:00pm. Watch Power social media for details and how to bid. The pre-game meal with the Great Outdoors Supper Club on Friday is Asian Night and Saturday is Supper Club Night. Asian Night includes two choices of sweet & sour chicken, beef broccoli and vegetable stir fry with white or fried rice and an egg roll for $15. Supper club night includes prime rib and a baked potato for $27. Food and beverage service begin at 5:00pm. Both games are at 7:30pm and will be broadcast on NA TV.
