The 2020-21 season was a challenging one for the Junior hockey world but also a rewarding one. Last night, in the NAHL draft, the Milwaukee Power's Co-Rookies of the Year were selected, Nate Stone to the Fairbanks Ice Dogs and Teddy Marion to the Robertson Cup Champion Shreveport Mudbugs. Stone and Marion make the Power total advancements this off season a total of three with the tendering of goaltender Ewan McDevitt by the Janesville Jets. "This past season was a completely new experience for everyone involved and that meant that our young guys not only had to get their first taste of Juniors but also navigate the changes that Covid put on the world," said Kevin Marion, Power General Manager. "We are extremely proud of Nate, Teddy, and Ewan on getting drafted and tendered to the NAHL for the 2021-22 season." This is the best off-season advancement the Power have had to the NAHL in their three seasons of existence with three rookies from last season getting an opportunity in Tier 2."Obviously I'm very excited because it has always been a goal of mine to get drafted to the NAHL, so for Fairbanks to pick me is truly a dream come true," said Nate Stone. "Playing for the Power last season really helped me get to this point. It was a place where I was able to find myself as a player and definitely mature which helped get me to this spot in my career. I couldn't thank Mr. Marion and the coaching staff enough for all their help as I know I wouldn't have gotten to this point without them."
"I am excited to be drafted by Shreveport and the opportunity to earn a roster spot in the NAHL," said Teddy Marion. "Playing for the Power last season helped me develop and gave me the much needed experience at the Junior level as well as the opportunity to be seen. I'd like to thank the coaching staff for all their help in growing my game and the business staff for everything they did to make last season happen."
