Power Acquire Drillers D-Man

Nov 25, 2020

The Power have completed a trade with the Louisiana Drillers for Top Prospect defenseman Ben Cope.

Cope had his best season in the NA3 last year posting 15 goals and 32 assists in 41 games. He is no stranger to the Central division having played against St. Louis, Peoria, and Wausau as a member of Evansville in the 2018-19 season.

“I’m excited to meet the guys and be a part of the Power,” said Cope.

“Ben is an offensive defensemen, with a cannon of a shot,” said Jeremy Dewar, Cope’s hockey advisor. “He brings grit, size, and experience to the blue line, and will be a great addition in Milwaukee.”

“Ben brings NA3HL Top Prospect talent and experience as we continue to improve our defensive zone,” said Power General Manager Kevin Marion. “Ben’s talent on both the offensive and defensive side of the puck is going to be a huge asset for us.  His size and physical play will tremendously improve our defensive core. Welcome to Milwaukee Ben!”

The Power are back in action next week at home against the Peoria Mustangs as they look to get back in the win column.
