The Power Sign First Player to Contract in Team History
The Power have signed forward Mason Evans as the first contracted player in team history and both sides are extremely excited.When asked about being the first player to ever sign with the Power Evans had this to say, "It feels awesome, it's crazy to think about that I'll be the first player to ever sign for this team in Milwaukee, it's a huge honor."Evans played his rookie season last year with the Point Mallard Ducks and his rights were transferred to the Power after the Ducks were sold and moved in mid April. The California native scored 14 goals and had 17 assists in his rookie campaign for a total of 31 points and contributed on the Ducks’ special teams with four power play goals and one shorthanded goal.Evans, having just graduated high school, has three more seasons of Junior hockey eligibility and is primed to have a big impact in his second season in the NA3HL. Evans offers the Power versatility as he played all three forward positions last season and can be a major piece of the nucleus for the Power for seasons to come.GM & Head Coach Fred Berry had this to say, “We’re very happy to have Mason coming on board after playing for the Ducks last season. It’s good to have returning players that come in with a great attitude and are excited to be coming to Milwaukee which I think is a great place for these young men to come play. Next we hope to have a bunch more guys signing over the next few weeks to put our core together.”As USHL and NAHL camps finish up over the next month there will be even more opportunities for the Power to draw the players that trickle down to the NA3HL. In the mean time the Power will work on signing the rest of the veterans from the Ducks along with their tenders and draft picks as the August main try-out camp approaches.
