The Milwaukee Power were back in action this past weekend in Oregon, Wisconsin, to take on the red hot Whalers. The Whalers had upset the Peoria Mustangs in two straight games the previous weekend. Meanwhile the Power had been on a five game skid and were looking to right the ship. "We had a tough stretch there, losing three games by one goal against good teams didn't help. We needed get back to playing like we were back at the start of the season," said Logan Geisness, the recently promoted team captain. The Power were still looking for their first win of 2019 after dropping two games to division opponents, St. Louis and Peoria, in a tight Central Division race for home ice advantage that could make all the difference when it comes to the playoffs in March. Milwaukee would jump out to an early lead with a goal from Mason Evans, his 13th of the season, with an assist from Ryan Payne. The next three goals came from the twins, Ben and Caleb Beversdorf, as they were red hot combining their three goals and two assists for five points on the night. Logan Geisness would get the fifth goal of the game for Milwaukee on an empty netter with Payne picking up his 2nd assist of the evening. Geisness, Graudins, and Bilyy picked up one assist each as well in the 5-2 victory. Aaron Dickstein stopped 21 of 23 shots to pick up his 20th win of the season, which leads all goalies in the NA3HL with the second highest total being 15. The Power will be heading back to Oregon this Friday to take on the Whalers in pursuit of win number 24 and getting another step closer to a playoff berth in their inaugural season. "We took a step back in the right direction and we need to keep heading that way to still be able to compete in late March," said Austin Keiser, Associate Head Coach. In other news the Power's first ever Captain, Jake Berry, made the first start for a former Power player in a NAHL game on Saturday night for the Bismarck Bobcats in their 5-0 win over the Brookings Blizzard.
