The Milwaukee Power have been on a roll this November going 9-1 and finishing the month with at 8 game winning streak.
Aaron Dickstein was named the Central Division Star of the Week, for the second time, on November 1st which would start a three week streak for the Power.
The toughest matchup came in the first series of the month against the St. Louis Jr. Blues as the difference in both games was one goal. The Power took the first game 2-1 and the Blues the second 6-5. They will open the month of December against each other in a two game series in St. Louis with big points on the line as the Blues try to close the gap while the Power look to widen their Central Division lead. Maris Graudins was named the Central Division Star of the Week with three goals and one assist on the weekend. Alexander Kelsall was the JS Quality Construction Hard Hat Player of the Weekend.
Milwaukee took a three game trip down to Evansville to take on the Jr. Thunderbolts in what would be a record breaking weekend. The Power scored a Tier 3 record 25 goals in the first game along with Jake Berry setting a new Assists and Points records in a single game with 12 assists and 13 points. He would finish the weekend with five goals and 15 assists for 20 points and was named the Central Division Star of the Week. Taven Santucci made his first two starts of the season and got his first three wins in the NA3HL. John Kosa scored his first two goals of his rookie NA3 season and Brady Rossbach got his first points in two assists.
The next week the Power faced off against the Wisconsin Whalers and the Peoria Mustangs in Milwaukee. The Power won 10-4 against the Whalers and 5-2 against the Mustangs to complete the three game sweep of Peoria in Milwaukee this season. Chuck Bay was named the 2nd Star in the Central Division with four goals and four assists. Brady Rossbach was the JS Quality Construction Hard Hat Player of the Weekend.
The week of Thanksgiving the Power had three games to play. One on the road against the Whalers and then a home and home series with the Wausau RiverWolves. After going down 1-0 in the first the Power scored nine straight goals to beat the Whalers for the third time this season. The two games against the RiverWolves were tight games as the Power would win by one both nights, 3-2 on at home and 4-3 on the road. Chuck Bay was named the Central Division Star of the Week, for the first time, with three goals and four assists on the weekend. The Power claimed the Central Division Star honor four out of the five times it was awarded in November. Ethan Dabbs was named the 2nd Star of the Week for the Central Division with one goal and three assists. John Kosa was the JS Quality Construction Hard Hat Player of the Weekend after stepping up onto the second line as the Power had a short bench.
Chuck Bay has climbed up the points leaderboard all the way into 4th with 23 goals and 35 assists for 59 points in 23 games with a 22 game point streak, the longest in the league. Jake Berry has also climbed up with list to 7th with 10 goals and 43 assists for 53 points and leads the entire NA3 in assists and all defensemen in assists and total points. Ryan Payne and Ivan Bilyy have made their way to 10th and 11th on in total points in their rookie campaigns as Payne has four goals and 22 assists for 26 points and Bilyy with eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points. Aaron Dickstein leads all NA3 goalies with 17 wins and 20 starts and is 10th is goals against average with a 2.29.
Coming Up in December
The Power have two road series and one home game before their Winter Break along with the Blaine Showcase. After the two game series in St. Louis the Power will be at home on Wednesday, December 5th, against the Whalers. Next weekend they head to Alexandria, MN to close the season series as the Power took the two games played in Milwaukee back in September.
The schedule was set for the Blaine Showcase for December 16th-18th with the Power drawing some of the best teams in the league as all 36 teams come together under one roof at the Schwan Super Rink.
The Power have the opportunity to get over the 25 win mark before their winter break, which would put them in excellent position to lock up a Playoff Birth in their Inaugural Season in late January/early February. There are a lot of tough tests ahead for Milwaukee but with the addition of Jake Peterson it could make all the difference in keeping the Power on track. "JP has brought a lot of great energy to the locker room and practices this week. He's coming in at the right time to help keep the spark going in the torch that these boys have been carrying since training camp back in August and we can't wait to see him in action in black and red for us this weekend," said Austin Keiser, Assistant Coach.
