NA3HL Showcase Preview

The annual NA3HL League Showcase will be held December 15-17 at the NSC Super Rink in Blaine, MN.  This season marks the 14th year the NA3HL will hold a league-wide Showcase, which features some of the best junior talent in the United States.

The Power is coming off a 5-2 win in Wausau over the Wausau Cyclones, keeping them in first place in the Central Division at 17-7-1-0 with 35 points.  The Power scored once in the first period, once in the second and three in third for their fourth win of the season to date over the Cyclones. Scoring for the Power was Blake Mitchell, assisted by Danny Jurcich, Lucca Weinkauf, assisted by Jurcich and Mitchell, Oliver Schroeder, assisted by Teagan Scheurer and Jackson Hoem, Jurcich, assisted by Weinkauf and Mitchell and Scheurer with the empty net to seal the victory, assisted by Hoem and Schroeder. Adam Prokop had 23 saves in the Power net with his third win against the Cyclones, moving him to 5-0 on the season, since arriving in West Bend.

The Power will kick off the Showcase on Sunday, December 15 with a 5:45pm game in Rink #2 against the Norwich Sea Captains of the East Division. The Sea Captains are 15-6-2-0 with 36 points in third place in the East Division.   The Sea Captains are led in scoring by Ryan Bedard with 18 points. Norwich is 2-1 in their last three games, falling 5-3 to the New Hampshire Mountain Kings, 3-2 to the New Jersey Titans and defeating the Maine Nordiques 7-1.

Monday, the Power will face the Sheridan Hawks of the Frontier Division at 12:15pm in Rink #3.  The Hawks are 18-6-2-0 in second place in the Frontier Division.  Josh Serino leads the Hawks in scoring with 50 points followed by Vincent Leaf with 43 points.  Sheridan will be entering the showcase on a three-game winning streak having swept the Yellowstone Quake and defeating the Great Falls Americans.

Tuesday the Power will face the Minnesota Wilderness of the West Division at 12:15pm in Rink #4.  The Wilderness is 11-10-2-1 in fourth place in the West Division. The Wilderness is led in scoring by Kaden Rocheleau and Jordan Fanti with 16 points each.  The Wilderness is coming off a split with the Granite City Lumberjacks and a win over the Wilmar Warhawks.

The Power will look to excel at the opportunity to compete at a high level in front of the league and scouts and showcase their ability to adapt to different systems and styles of play.

“The showcase is an exciting time of the year!  This is where our players get to showcase their talents and developments to the NAHL and NCAA teams.  As well as we get to see different styles of the game by playing teams from other divisions,” said Power Associate Head Coach, General Manger Jeremy Ebert.  “Our expectation for this week is for our players to showcase their talents working inside of a teams structure,” added Ebert.
