The Milwaukee Power travels to Blaine, MN for the NA3HL League Showcase December 18-20 at the Schwan’s Super Rink. This season marks the 12th year the NA3HL will hold a league-wide Showcase, which features some of the best junior talent in the United States.
The Power kicks off the showcase Sunday, December 18, at 5:15pm in Rink #6 against the Danbury Jr. Hatricks of the East Division. Danbury is 14-9-2 in third place in the East Division and is lead in scoring by Denis Radchenko (27 points), Roman Winicki (25 points) and Oleg Egorov (23 points).
Monday’s matchup will be at 12:15 against the Butte Cobras of the Frontier Division in Rink #5. Butte is currently in 4th place in the Frontier Division with a 13-11-1 record. Butte is led in scoring by Nick Bradshaw (36 points), Cade Wessman (30 points) and Caelin Chinley (28 points).
Tuesday the Power will face the West Division New Ulm Steel at noon in Rink #5. The Steel are 7-14-3-1 in 5th place in the West. Leading scorers for the Steel include Gus Cantwell (25 points) Jack Laser (20 points) and Nicholas O’Brien (17 points).
The Power is led in scoring by Patrick Toomey with 35 points (20 goals, 15 assists), Blake Keller (25 points total season), Max Erstad with 19 points (7 goals, 12 assists), Bryce Garber with 15 points (11 goals, 4 assists) and Mike Dalaly with 12 points (3 goals, 9 assists).
The Power will continue to look for strong the goaltending in tandem Adam Prokop (2.64 GAA, 0.924 SV%) and Brett Holmer (3.78 GAA, 0.892 SV%).
The Power is coming off a split with the Central Division leading Rochester Grizzlies last weekend on home ice and are 3-2 in their last five games. The Power is currently in 4th place in the Central at 13-10-2-1.
“Our sole focus with this upcoming weekend is to finish the first half strong and healthy. We come to Blaine playing good hockey both defensively and offensively. Continued strong structural play in all zones and being discipline this weekend will prove us successful in the upcoming three games,” said VP Hockey Operations, General Manager Kevin Marion.
The Power will break over the holidays and return to play January 6-7 on the road to Breezy Point, MN to face the Minnesota Loons. Both games are at 7:30pm and will be broadcast on Hockey TV.
The Power returns home to Kettle Moraine Ice Center Saturday, January 14, 6:00pm (Skate with the Power, sponsored by The Barton House West Bend) and Sunday, January 15, 12:15pm.
