The Power saw their first action of 2021 this past Friday as they were the visitors in their own building against the Tradesmen.
It was the 6th start in a row for goaltender Cole Shane and he didn’t look rusty coming off the three week break making some incredible saves to keep it a close game. He stopped 23 of 26 shots faced.
The Power were down by one at the end of the first after the Tradesmen scored after a Milwaukee power play expired. Oregon would score a power play goal early in the second frame to take a two goal lead heading into the third.
Michael Dalaly would score for Milwaukee shorthanded and unassisted to cut the lead to one eight minutes in to the frame. He would score again five minutes later assisted by Max Erstand and Caleb Dusseau to tie the game with just over eight minutes remaining. The Tradesmen would regain the lead with five and a half minutes to go and keep it till the end as Milwaukee took a bench-minor in the final minute.
This was the eighth straight loss for the Power and their third one to the Tradesmen this season. There were missed opportunities that Milwaukee needs to find a way to capitalize on going forward as they try to chase down St. Louis in the division standings.
The Power have a home and home series this weekend with the Wausau RiverWolves starting on Friday in Milwaukee.
