Milwaukee Power Assistant Captain Mason Ausmus has committee to NCAA Division III Lawrence University in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA).
“I am extremely proud of Mason and what he’s accomplished here in Milwaukee, said Vice President Hockey Operations/GM Kevin Marion. “I was excited to get him on a tender after watching him with Meijer u18 in AAA. You can’t teach his skating ability; you can’t teach his dedication or focus on community involvement…Lawrence University is getting a complete player. Congratulations Mason on earning this well-deserved opportunity and thank you,” added Marion.
The Saline, MI native has played two seasons with the Milwaukee Power. He led the team with 46 points in the 2021-22 season in 42 games played with 13 goals and 33 assists.
“I am tremendously proud for Mason in earning the opportunity to play NCAA collegiate hockey next season. Over the past two seasons Mason has been one of the most dominating players in the Central division and the entire NA3HL. From the very first day he arrived in Milwaukee he has embodied and embraced our Power Signature, Fundamental Truths and Pillars of Strength. He has been a leader on and off the ice and a fan favorite in the community. I wish Mason nothing but the best in his collegiate career. I am confident he will be an immediate, impact player for Lawrence University next season,” said Chase Ernst, CEO of Local Hockey Partners and President of the Milwaukee Power.
“I am so honored to have the opportunity to play NCAA D3 Hockey at Lawrence University and pursuit my academic career there as well. I can’t thank Coach Mike and Coach Pat enough for giving me this opportunity and believing in me. I can’t wait to get things started next season. I would also like to thank the Milwaukee Power organization for everything the past 2 seasons and helping me along the way in my junior hockey career,” said Ausmus.
