Weekend Preview: Power Host Grizzlies in Central Division Showdown Saturday

Oct 15, 2026

The West Bend Power and Rochester Grizzlies will renew their Central Division rivalry on Saturday, October 17, at 7:30 p.m. at Kettle Moraine Ice Center. With just one point separating the two teams in the division standings, Saturday’s matchup promises to be an exciting battle for positioning at the top of the Central Division.

Saturday is also First Responders Night, sponsored by Graff Masonry. All first responders will receive FREE admission with a valid ID as the Power recognize and honor the men and women who serve and protect our communities.

The excitement begins well before the Power take the ice, with a special afternoon of hockey and community celebration.

  • 3:30 PM – WCYHA Alumni Game
  • 5:00 PM – Milwaukee Police vs. Milwaukee Firefighters
  • 7:30 PM – West Bend Power vs. Rochester Grizzlies

The Great Outdoors Supper Club will be serving a delicious pre-game menu featuring smash burgers, cheese curds, fries, hot dogs and chicken tenders. Bar service will also be available during pre-game festivities.

The Power and Grizzlies are no strangers to close games this season. The two teams have already met three times at the Rochester Recreation Center, with all three contests requiring overtime and two being decided in shootouts. The Power came away victorious in two of those three meetings. Rochester enters Saturday’s contest sitting atop the Central Division standings with a 6-0-1-1 record and 14 points, while West Bend is close behind in second place at 6-0-0-1 with 13 points. The Power return to action following an off weekend, while the Grizzlies enter the matchup with momentum after sweeping the St. Louis Jr. Blues last weekend. With both teams looking to establish themselves as the division’s top contender, Saturday’s matchup has all the ingredients for another thrilling chapter in this growing rivalry.

The Power offense continues to be led by Shaun Paulson, who has recorded 14 points this season. Adam Sexton follows closely with 13 points, while Josh Graves has contributed 11 points. Rochester counters with a balanced offensive attack led by Jace Jordan and Konner Goclan, who have each recorded 11 points. Sawyer Zaruba rounds out the Grizzlies’ top three scorers with eight points.

Special teams could play a significant role in Saturday’s matchup, with the Power holding the advantage in both categories. West Bend enters the contest with an impressive 25.71% power play efficiency and a 92.86% penalty kill. Rochester’s power play is operating at 15.38%, while the Grizzlies have successfully killed off 82.35% of their penalties. With the previous meetings between these two teams decided by narrow margins, capitalizing on special teams opportunities could prove to be the difference.

“Its a great opportunity to face off against a solid Rochester team for the fourth time this season.  This time we get to play at home in front of our fans, and we’re looking forward to it,” said Power Head Coach Jason Woods.

The Power look forward to returning to home ice in front of the Power faithful for an important Central Division showdown and a special night honoring our first responders.
