Recap – Power defeats Rochester, Woodsmen

The Power had two games last week at KMIC, a Wednesday weekday match up with the Rochester Grizzlies and a Friday night showdown with the Wisconsin Woodsmen, and won both games, remaining undefeated on home ice this season and improving to 29-2-1-1 with 60 points in first place in the Central Division. The Friday victory officially secured the Power spot in the 2026 Fraser Cup playoffs.

Wednesday was a make-up game from the November Thanksgiving snowstorm cancellation. Jace Fitzgerald got the scoring started at 16:10 of the first period with a power play goal, his 20th goal of the season, assisted by Danny Jurcich (25).  Jurcich then tallied a goal of his own at 8:55, his 10th of the season off a Quinn O’Connor (18) assist for a Power 2-0 lead after period one.  Brody Josselyn (11) extended the Power lead at 8:07 with a power play goal off Nathan Antti (3) and Armani Fisher (9) assists.  Rochester answered twice in the period, at 7:40 and 3:59 to cut the lead to 3-2, but Danny Jurcich scored another power play goal with 19 seconds remaining in the period, what proved to be the game winning goal off assists from Quinn O’Connor (19) and Drew Sparacino (25).   The third period saw scoring from both teams, Rochester at 14:34 and then it was Jurcich again at 11:56 scoring his third goal of the night to complete the hat trick off an assist from Evan Burchardt (13). Goaltender Sam Ahl earned the victory in the Power net, stopping 17/20 Grizzlies shots on goal. The Power had 21 shots on goal.

The Palermo’s Screamin’ Sicilian Three Stars of the game were third star Evan Burchardt second star Quinn O’Connor and first star Danny Jurcich.  The Versi-foam Hard Hat Hardest Worker of the game was Otis Berge.

Friday it was the Wisconsin Woodsmen who traveled to Kettle Moraine Ice Center.  The Woodsmen got on the board first, at 17:57 of the first period for the early lead but Otis Berge (3) answered less than 10 seconds later to tie the game.  Berge was assisted by Wyatt Emmett (4) and Nathan Antti (4).  Cole Craft (7) gave the Power the lead at 11:36 off assits from Berge and Shaun Paulson (10).  Paulson (7) got the only goal of the second period with just 2 seconds on the clock, a power play goal assisted by Evan Burchardt (14) and Antti (5) for a 3-1 lead after two periods of play.  Quinn O’Connor scored a power play goal just 28 seconds into the third period to extend the Power lead.  O’Connor was assisted by Danny Jurcich (26) and Brody Josselyn (11).   Josselyn scored his 12th goal of the season, a power play goal at 10:56 off assists from Antti (6) and Burchardt (15) for a 5-1 Power lead.  The Woodsmen were able to get one more on the board at 6:23, but Armani Fisher (11) sealed the victory with a goal at 6:00 off asssits from Paulson (11) and Cole Craft (7) for the 6-2 final.  Ben Glaseman earned the victory in the Power net, stopping 24/26 Woodsmen shots on goal.  The Power had 34 shots on goal.

The Palermo’s Screamin’ Sicilian Three Stars of the game were third star Cole Craft, second star Armani Fisher and first star Shaun Paulson.  The Versi-foam Hard Hat Hardest Worker of the game was Owen Miller.

The Culligan Water of West Bend Power Player of the Weekend is Nathan Antti.

The Power will host the Wausau Cyclones on Friday night for WHITE OUT Night, sponsored by Nature’s Care ChemDry. benefitting the United Way of Washington County.  $5 from all general admission tickets will be donated to the United Way of Washington County.  Fans are encouraged to wear white.  The first 250 fans will receive a rally towel compliments of Nature’s Care ChemDry.  Pre-game meal with the Great Outdoors Supper Club is Pasta Bar.  Game time is 7:30pm at Kettle Moraine Ice Center.  The Power will travel to Rochester to take on the Grizzlies Saturday for a 7:00 game at the Rochester Recreation Center.  Both games will be broadcast on NA TV.
