The Power will host the Peoria Mustangs in a two-game series Friday and Saturday at Kettle Moraine Ice Center. This weekend is Salute to Veterans/Military Appreciation Weekend sponsored by Culligan Water of West Bend. All active military and veterans will be admitted free. Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, Camp Hometown Heroes and the West Bend Veterans Color Guard will be part of the celebration. The Kettle Moraine Figure Skating Club will perform at first intermission both nights. The Great Outdoors Supper Club will be offering a Fish Fry Friday and Appetizer Night on Saturday. Food and beverage service begin at 5:00pm.
The Power is 14-2-0-1 with 29 points and is currently in first place in the Central Division. The Mustangs are 1-15-2-0 with four points in sixth place in the Central Division. The Power is on an eight-game winning streak entering the weekend, having taken two games against the West Division Alexandria Blizzard last weekend in West Bend. The Mustangs are coming off two losses to the Wisconsin Woodsmen.
The Power is led in scoring by Jace Fitzgerald with 26 points, Danny Jurcich with 18 points and Drew Sparacino with 17 points. Wyatt Duke and Brenden Miller lead the Mustangs in scoring with 18 points each. Peter Burke moved to 7-1 with his two wins in the Power net last weekend, Burke has a 2.008GAA and .937 SV%. The Mustangs have split goaltending duties between Jakub Stary and Charlie Maquet.
The Power has scored 79 goals this season compared to the Mustangs 43. The Power has 369 penalty minutes to Peoria’s 268. The Power is 17.7% on the power play and 81.8% on the penalty kill to Peoria’s 14.3% on the power play and 70.4% on the penalty kill.
“We want to keep building on our winning momentum while continuing to refine certain areas of our game,” said Power head coach Jason Woods. “It’s important that we stay focused, play smart and disciplined hockey, and approach each matchup one game at a time.”
Both games are at 7:30pm and will be broadcast on NA TV.
