The Power took on St. Louis at Kettle Moraine Ice Center for a two-game series and came away with a sweep and two points. It took overtime to seal the 4-3 Power win on Friday, and Saturday the home team won 5-2.
Friday the Power got off to a good start in the first period, scoring twice. Monté Goold scored his first goal of the season from long range at 15:37. He was assisted by Jace Fitzgerald (12) and Sam Harper (5). Brody Josselyn scored his third goal of the season at 7:48 off assists from Grant Schaible (5) and Quinn O’Connor (3) for the 2-0 lead after one period of play. There was no scoring in the second. The third period belonged to the visitors as they capitalized on turnovers and opportunities, scoring three times. Stephan Craig scored at 14:01 and Mason Andrew scored twice at 12:49 and 4:53 to give St. Louis a 3-2 heading into the final minutes of the period. Jace Fitzgerald was able to tie things up with just 1:39 remaining to send the game to overtime. He was assisted by Brody Josselyn (5) and Blake Mitchell (5). It was Jace Fitzgerald again in overtime, scoring 1:47 into the extra period to seal the victory. He was assisted by William McDonald (4) and Mike Sobaski (5). The shots on goal were 36-35 in favor of the Power. Connor Doyle earned the victory in the Power net.
The Palermo’s Screamin Sicilian Three Stars of the Game were third star Brody Josselyn, second star William McDonald and first star Jace Fitzgerald. The Versi-foam Hard Hat Hardest worker of the game was Odin Klebba.
Saturday Jackson Hoem got the scoring started with his 13th goal of the season at 6:39 of the first period off assists from Odin Klebba (8) and Drew Sparacino (4). Just 13 seconds later, Quinn O’Connor scored his second goal of the season off assists from Odin Klebba (9) and Jackson Hoem (8). Brayden Davis answered for the Jr. Blues at 5:31 to cut the lead in half but William McDonald (2) increased the lead to 3-1 at the end of the first periods off assists from Tommy Kundinger (6) and Jackson Hoem (9). Tyler Kowalchuck started the scoring in the second with his first goal of the season at 9:36 off assists from Lucca Weinkauf (4) and Drew Garipay (2). St. Louis answered again off a Kyle Settles goal at 7:26 to cut the lead in half. Blake Mitchell scored the Power’s 5th goal of the night, his 4th of the season at 6:20. He was assisted by Tyler Kowalchuck (1) and Lucca Weinkauf (5). There was no scoring in the third period. The Power outshot the Jr. Blues 37-19. Ben Glaeseman earned the victory in the power net.
