The Power and Woodsmen faced off in a home and away series, each team coming away with one victory and two points.
Friday the Power came out on top in Tomah 2-1. Jackson Hoem got the scoring started with his fourth goal of the year at 10:50 of the first period. He was assisted by Jace Fitzgerald (4) and Monte Goold (3). It was the only scoring in the first period. The Woodsmen tied things up at 5:36 of the second period off a Daniel Szovil goal for a 1-1 tie after two periods of play. The difference maker came at 10:58 of the third period when Quinn O’Connor picked off the puck and dangled through Woodsmen defenders for a shorthanded goal, the eventual game winner. He was unassisted. Owen Soderholm earned the victory, stopping 30 of 31 Woodsmen shots on goal. The Power had 27 shots on goal.
Saturday the visiting Woodsmen got on the board early and never looked back. The first goal of the night came on a shorthanded effort at 14:47 of the first period scored by Joshua Kauppinen. Charles Murray scored at the 2:21 mark to give the Woodsmen a 2-0 lead after the first period. The Woodsmen added three goals in the second period, two by Nolan Mix and one by Charles Murray. Teagan Scheurer (2) was able to get the Power on the board at 2:23 off assists from Mike Sobaski (3) and Jace Fitzgerald (5) for a 5-1 margin after two. The Woodsmen’s sixth goal was scored at 11:17 of the third period. The Power’s Mike Sobaski scored his first goal of the season with 25.3 remaining for the 6-2 final. Sobaski was assisted by Jackson Hoem (4) and Jace Fitzgerald (6). Owen Soderholm was relieved of his duties in the Power net by Ben Glaseman after the Woodsmen’s fourth goal. Tomah had 34 shots on goal, the Power had 40 shots on goal.
The Versi-foam Hard Hat hardest worker of the game was Mike Sobaski.
The Culligan Water of West Bend player of the weekend goes to Quinn O’Connor for his winning goal in Friday night’s game.

The Power will be home at Kettle Moraine Ice Center both Friday and Saturday, October 11-12 to take on the Peoria Mustangs for First Responders Weekend sponsored by Game Day Men’s Health of Germantown.
