Trade Alert 1/18/19

Jan 18, 2019

The Milwaukee Power have completed a trade with the Wausau RiverWolves.

The Power receive third year defenseman Santana Pinkert.

The RiverWolves receive first year defenseman Alexander Kelsall and a 2019 tender.

With the departure of Jake Berry to the Bismarck Bobcats of the NAHL, the Power wanted to add more experience and point production from the backend and Pinkert fits that role with his 117 games played in the NA3. He has three goals and 15 assists in 29 games, in this his final season of Junior hockey, and now has a chance to finish his NA3 career with a playoff run.

“We are very excited to have Santana join us this week and what he brings to the table for our organization. I feel that acquiring him is the beginning of our playoff push and we can take that another step further with a win over the Whalers this weekend,” said Chase Ernst, President of Hockey Operations. “We would also like to thank Alexander for being part of this inaugural season and all that he has done for us. He was one of the first players we identified at our summer tryout camp, back in August, and signed. We wish him the best of luck with his new team and with his hockey career.”

The Power can move another step closer with a win over Wisconsin this weekend to a playoff berth. In the coming weeks Milwaukee has a tough schedule as they take on the Blues, Mustangs, and Chill as the top of the Central Division battles it out for the top spot to claim home ice advantage.

Don't forget to come out on January 25th as the Power take on the Jr. Blues at Wilson Ice Arena starting at 7:30PM and bring your canned goods for the food drive and your admission.
