The Power first camp concluded yesterday after four days of hard work, competition, and taking part in the community. The players got a lot out of the four days of on and off ice work with the Power's coaching staff and the SEH Development Group. In turn the Power found three forwards to offer contracts to be part of the Power's inaugural season roster:- Alexander Kelsall from Gilbert, Arizona. "He is a gritty and tenacious forward who isn't afraid to get into the tough areas of the ice. He's a leader, he will put the team first and do anything that is asked of him. He is a player that embodies the passion we want behind the Power and we are very happy and proud to have him as part of our organization," said Chase Ernst, Vice President of Hockey Operations.
- Nick Roberts from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. "Roberts is an excellent skating, very smart hockey IQ player. He always seems to put himself in the right positioning on the ice to keep himself engaged in every play in any zone. He is a local product who is a testament to the youth organizations in Milwaukee doing a good job preparing kids for the next step, which we then are blessed to provide inside the NA3HL level,"said Chase Ernst, Vice President of Hockey Operations. Roberts will be very familiar with Wilson Ice Arena as he has played under its roof for seven years as part of the SHAW hockey program.
- Garrett Formhals from Rochester, Minnesota. "From the first second Garrett arrived at camp, displayed 100% every single characteristic we are looking for in a player on and off the ice. The natural life adversity that he has faced has not only prepared him for where he is at but it has galvanized and fortified him to continue climbing well beyond where he is. We are tremendously proud to have Garrett as part of our organization and I am confident that this young man will become an inspiration to everyone that watches him,"said Chase Ernst, Vice President of Hockey Operations. Not a day went by that someone didn't mention Garrett's work ethic out-loud but also we saw him having fun playing tag with the youth hockey kids during the open skate. The Power continue to work every day to add more players for the inaugural season. Stay tuned for more signings to come.
