THE POWER SWEEPS WAUSAU IN WEST BEND
The Milwaukee Power swept the Wausau Cyclones this weekend at the Kettle Moraine Ice Center, moving to 4-3-1 on the season in third place in the tough Central Division.
It took extra hockey for the Power to grab the win on Friday night, scoring the winning goal in overtime to take the 2-1 victory. Both Power goals were scored by Bryce Garber. Connor O’Neal tallied an assist.
The Ally 3-Stars of the Game were Tommy Kundinger, Max Mudge and Bryce Garber. The Versi-foam Hard Hat player of the game was Gavin Reidy.
Saturday the Power got on the board in the first period with a goal from Captain Mike Dalay, assisted by Max Erstad and Max Mudge. The Power’s second goal came just 24 seconds in the second period when Connor O’Neal put one in with assists from Jack Wojnowski and Patrick Toomey. The Power’s third goal came in the second when Patrick Toomey scored off assists from Tommy Kundinger and Odin Klebba. The third period remained scoreless until the 17-minute mark when Patrick Toomey buried his second goal of the night, assisted by Odin Klebba and Connor O’Neal for the win. Spencer Northway stopped 27 shots in the shutout.
The Ally 3-Stars of the game were Mike Dalaly, Patrick Toomey and Spencer Northway. The Versi-foam Hard Hat player of the game was Odin Klebba.
The Kundinger Fluid Power Player of the Week goes to Patrick Toomey who collected 4 points on the weekend.
The Power’s next home games are Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8 when they host the Minnesota Loons at Kettle Moraine Ice Center. Both games are at 7:30pm. It’s Youth Hockey and IIHF Girls Hockey weekend. All youth hockey players wearing jerseys get in free and Friday will feature the KMIC Lynx Girls Hockey skaters. Tickets are $10 at the door, $5 for kids/seniors/military.
