After a tough weekend against the undefeated Rochester Grizzlies, the Power hit the road for a single game against the Oregon Tradesmen. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season, with the Tradesmen currently second in the Central Division standings.
The Power fought hard these past two games. On Saturday afternoon, an exciting third period played out as the Power continuously cut down the Grizzlies’ lead by one point. Unfortunately, Rochester didn’t back down and won the game by a two goal difference. Sunday afternoon wouldn’t go any better for the Power; the Grizzlies recorded their first shutout of the season and swept the series.
Oregon is coming off this weekend with a split series against the St. Louis Jr. Blues. On Friday, the Jr. Blues had a shutout against the Tradesmen. However, after the loss they quickly bounced back and beat the Jr. Blues 5-1 the following day.
This season, the Power have accumulated over 200 penalty minutes. Milwaukee would likely benefit from decreasing the amount of penalties per game, which would increase the chance of breaking their losing streak. Along with this, the Power should focus on keeping possession of the puck. The team has trailed in number of shots on goal each game they lost, which may tie to how often they’re holding onto the puck.
Milwaukee’s game against the Tradesmen will take place on Saturday, Oct. 30th at 7:30 p.m. With the game being in Oregon, the Power looks to recover from the weekend at home and defeat one of their Wisconsin rivals on the Tradesmen’s home ice. You can stream the game live on Hockey TV!
