The Milwaukee Power are back at home after back to back road trips. This past Friday and Saturday they were in Alexandria, Minnesota to take on the Blizzard. After a 8-3 loss on Friday the Power had a better showing on Saturday as they came up one goal short of forcing overtime.
The Grizzlies remain undefeated after sweeping the Oregon Tradesmen last weekend. They haven’t been as disciplined or dominant on the score board as last season and have had some close games this season with their last one coming down to the shootout. The last time the Grizzlies came to Milwaukee was back on September 27th and they came away with a 4-3 win.
The Power have had some trouble getting off to good starts the past two weekends but they have played well at home and look to give Grizzlies their first loss of the year. Milwaukee will need to stay out of the penalty box to keep the Grizzlies power play unit, that is converting on over 40% of their opportunities, off the ice. The Power also need to limit their turnovers to have more puck possession time and play their game.
The Power goalies have averaged 2.86 goals against a game and the offense has averaged 3.33 goals per game. They are lead on offense by Michael Dalaly with 6 goals and 6 assists. Spencer Northway has been the Power’s go-to goaltender starting 5 of their 9 games with a save percentage of 0.940 and one shutout.
The Rochester goaltenders are averaging 2.09 goals against a game while the offense has averaged 5 goals a game. Zach Wiese has been the work horse in net having started 5 of their 9 games with a save percentage of 0.916. Connor Mahony has been driving their offense with 9 goals and 2 assists in 5 games. Milwaukee will have to be defensively sound to limit odd man rushes by Mahony with his elite speed.
