A pair of tough losses for the Power this past weekend leads to dropping to 5th place in the Central.
Jackson Broussard would start in net on Friday night, stopping 41 of 47 shots faced. The Blues would score early in the 1st before the Power responded with three straight coming from: Max Erstad, assisted by Teddy Marion and Zach Wilson. Steven Delikat, assisted by Brady Rossbach and Trey Bess. Nico Piehl, assisted by Zach Wilson on the power play. The Blues would score late in the period to get within one.
St. Louis would score two more in the 2nd period and kept Milwaukee out of their net. The Blues would score two more early in the 3rd to take a three goal lead. Milwaukee would get some life on the power play as Wilson weaved through the St. Louis zone to get back within two, assisted by Erstad and Jackson Terpstra. Tyler Nelson would score with 7:30 left to bring Milwaukee within one, assisted by Erstad and Marion. The Power would come up short of the comeback after being unable to capitalize on two St. Louis penalties with a final of 6-5.
Petr Mehall would make his NA3 debut in net as he started on Saturday night making a lot of big stops on 43 shots faced. Both offenses would be held at bay in the 1st and it was more of the same in the 2nd until the Blues would go on a 5-minute major power play and score twice. Delikat would score late in the frame with assists from Bess and Rossbach but the Blues would score again.
St. Louis would score early in the 3rd but Milwaukee would get back within two with a goal from Nelson, assisted by Delikat and Rossbach on the power play. The Blues would add another to stretch their lead back to three for a final score of 5-2.
The Power were outshot both nights and struggled with giving up odd man rushes. They will look to get back on track after having this week off for Thanksgiving.
